Curry Leaves Chutney

This is one of the most delicious chutney, few years back we were at lunch with one of our family friends & aunty have made this. I end up eating just chutney :) and when aunty told me that its curry leaves i was speechless for sure. 

Apart from taste there are numerous health benefits of consuming curry leaves & it helps to
  • Lowers cholesterol
  • Improves digestion
  • Fights diabetes
  • Helps keep anaemia at bay
    Curry leaves are a rich source of iron and folic acid. Folic acid is mainly responsible for carrying and helping the body absorb iron, and since kadi patta / curry leaves is a rich source of both the compounds it is your one-stop natural remedy to beat anaemia
Do we need any more reasons to have this easy peasy chutney now ;) 


1/2 cup curry leaves
1/2 cup fresh coconut
2 tbsp roasted chana dal
1 garlic clove
1 green chilly
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp tamarind paste (or as per taste)
1 tsp of jaggery
salt to taste

For Tampering

1 1/2 tbsp oil
muster seeds
whole red chillies
curry leaves
udad dal
fenugreek / methi seeds

Grind all ingredients (except tampering one) in blander to make a chutney. give a quick taste test. 

Now heat oil in pan once oil is hot add muster seeds and let it splattered, add udad dal, methi seeds whole red chillies & curry leaves. Pour this tadka / tampering on chutney. serve it with idly, dosa or uttapam.
